ED World Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026

1. Introduction

ED World ("we", "us", "our") is an educational platform that connects learners with educational service providers through the ED World mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

a. Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, mobile number, gender, and password (your password is stored in hashed form and is never readable by us). If you sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider, according to your settings with them.

b. Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment provider, PayTabs. Your card details are entered with and processed directly by PayTabs; we do not store your full card number. We keep records of your transactions (amount, date, and the course or service purchased). PayTabs' processing of your data is governed by its own privacy policy: https://site.paytabs.com/en/privacy-policy/.

c. Location. With your permission, we use your device's approximate or precise location only while you are actively using the app's map feature, to show educational centers and services near you. We do not collect your location in the background, and you can withdraw this permission at any time from your device settings.

d. Camera, photos and files. With your permission, we access your camera or your photo and file library only when you choose to upload a picture or file (for example a profile photo or an assignment).

e. Microphone. With your permission, we access your microphone only when you choose to record audio inside the app (for example a voice message). Recording never happens without an action from you.

f. Biometric sign-in. If you enable fingerprint or face sign-in, the biometric check is performed entirely on your device by its operating system. Your biometric data never leaves your device and is never sent to or stored by us.

g. Device information and identifiers. We collect your device model, operating system version, app version, language, and a push-notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so that we can deliver notifications to your device.

h. Usage and diagnostics. We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect app-usage statistics and crash reports (such as in-app events, device type, and crash logs). We use this information to improve the stability and features of the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and provide the Service (courses, live classes, bookings, and content).
  • To process your payments and send you invoices and confirmations.
  • To send you service notifications and updates (you can disable notifications from your device settings).
  • To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • To understand how the Service is used, fix crashes, and improve our features.
  • To protect the Service against fraud and abuse and to comply with our legal obligations.

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. We share information only with:

  • Google Firebase (analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications) — see Google's Privacy Policy.
  • PayTabs (payment processing) — see PayTabs' Privacy Policy.
  • Zoom — when you join a live class held over Zoom, your display name may be visible to the instructor and other attendees, and Zoom processes the session data under Zoom's Privacy Statement.
  • Educational providers whose courses or services you book: they receive the information needed to deliver the service to you (such as your name, contact details, and enrollment information).
  • Authorities, when we are required to do so by applicable law or a valid legal request.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are kept for the period required by applicable tax and accounting laws. Analytics and crash data are retained according to Firebase's standard retention periods. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it.

6. Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Profile → Delete Account) or by emailing us at [email protected]. When your account is deleted, we remove or anonymize your personal information, except for records we are legally required to keep (such as tax records for completed transactions).

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is designed for learners, including students who may be under the age of majority. If you are a minor in your country, you may use the Service only with the consent and under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian, and purchases must be made by an adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us personal information without your consent, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using commercially reasonable safeguards.

9. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may withdraw any permission (such as location or microphone) from your device settings at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or in legal requirements. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
